As if the transition to my new job (which I am truly grateful for) after starting it barely two weeks ago, I’ve found myself this week on my first business trip. Between delayed flights, agonizing wait times in car rental lines, work, post-work events to bond with my new colleagues, I have been chasing a good nights rest for several days now. Needless to say, the writing chances have been nonexistent. Just last night I asked myself if i could even try to write, but my brain felt like if I tried, the words to come out would be the textual representation of:

Luckily, I have had fleeting quiet moments where I’ve been able to think about my new WIP and come up with some lovely details to the story. I’m so excited to continue it, I can’t wait to get back home and into my routine so the writing production can pick up again.
Different from my first story, I recall seeing some advice to write the query letter ever before you really get going on your new WIP. The logic being that if you cannot write a dynamite query early on, it may indicate that the story needs some more time to cook/plan before writing it in full. I’m not a pantser, having a destination in mind, story wise, is needed for me to serve as my guiding light. Interesting use of the term, guiding light, Tim. *wink
